Training on dry pastries and Good Hygiene Practices
From 27 June 2022 to 30 August 2022, ACRAM organised a series of activities and trainings within the framework of the IOF/ACRAM Gender Project with the objective of economic empowerment of women in the coffee sector in Gabon.
These activities took place in two stages. First, a training session on the preparation of dry pastries with sighted male women as beneficiaries, and then the second training session concerned good hygiene and food safety practices given by Mrs. MBELE Gelsie of the Gabonese Food Safety Agency (AGASA).
The training on dry pastry concerned the National Cooperative of Visually Handicapped Women of Gabon (CNFAG) and the National Association of the Blind of Gabon (ANAG) on the techniques of diversification of coffee-based products. The beneficiaries were able to deepen their knowledge of pastry making by integrating coffee as a flavouring in the preparation of their products. The participants made petits fours, shortbread of different flavours, cookies, and madeleines.
AGASA, Gabonese Food Safety Agency training on good hygiene practices
To consolidate the achievements of the training in dry pastries, a training on good hygiene practices and food safety was organised from 2 to 3 August 2022 in partnership with AGASA for associations of visually handicapped women, which resulted in certificates and the award of standards.
Mr BILA Bassedou, trainer of AGASA emphasized the need for good food hygiene practices for successful marketing.
